Bulk supply and export terms

Ivabradine exporter and bulk supplier from India.

"We need a partner for ivabradine" is a typical cardiology formulary or tender enquiry. M Care is a merchant-exporter: we supply originator or regulator-registered brands and Indian-made lines, and we confirm which one your destination's registration route accepts before quoting. In Europe the molecule is sold as Procoralan (Servier), and Servier also holds a separate EU authorisation for 5 mg and 7.5 mg tablets under the name Corlentor. In the US, Amgen markets it as Corlanor. Generic ivabradine is listed by the regulators in the EU, the UK and the US, so the brand, the strength and the pack all change the quote. Indian-made lines on our roster include Ivabid, Ivabrad and Ivabeat in 5 mg and 7.5 mg tablets. Ivabradine tablets need no cold chain on the EU, UK and US texts we read, which keeps freight simple. Related cardiovascular lines that buyers list beside it are sacubitril/valsartan, bisoprolol, ranolazine and trimetazidine.

At a glance

If-channel inhibitor, heart-rate-lowering cardiac agent, sourced and documented for export.

Ivabradine is a prescription heart-rate-lowering medicine that acts on the If current in the sinus node. The EMA lists Les Laboratoires Servier as the Procoralan marketing authorisation holder, with the marketing authorisation issued on 25 October 2005, and Servier holds a second EU authorisation for the same molecule under the name Corlentor. The EU and UK texts list two indications. The first is symptomatic treatment of chronic stable angina in adults with coronary artery disease, normal sinus rhythm and a heart rate of at least 70 bpm, either in patients who cannot take beta-blockers or added to a beta-blocker that is not controlling symptoms. The second is chronic heart failure, NYHA class II to IV with systolic dysfunction, in sinus rhythm with a heart rate of at least 75 bpm, alongside standard therapy including beta-blockers or when beta-blockers are contraindicated or not tolerated. The UK SmPC states that safety and efficacy in children under 18 have not been established. The US label for Corlanor (Amgen) differs: it lists heart failure only, in adults with LVEF of 35% or less in sinus rhythm with a resting heart rate of at least 70 bpm, and stable symptomatic heart failure due to dilated cardiomyopathy in patients aged 6 months and older. The EU and UK strengths are 5 mg and 7.5 mg film-coated tablets. The US label lists 5 mg and 7.5 mg tablets and a 5 mg/5 mL oral solution supplied in ampules.

Active ingredient

Ivabradine (as hydrochloride). If-channel inhibitor, heart-rate-lowering cardiac agent.

Forms and strengths

5 mg film-coated tablet; 7.5 mg film-coated tablet; 5 mg/5 mL oral solution in ampule (US Corlanor label).

Indications

Ivabradine is an If-channel inhibitor that lowers heart rate, used for chronic stable angina and chronic heart failure in sinus rhythm with an elevated heart rate.

Administration

Oral. Film-coated tablet.

Documentation

Batch-specific CoA, CoPP, manufacturing-site WHO-GMP certificate and stability data compiled per consignment, in the format the destination regulator expects.

Who we supply

Hospital pharmacies, licensed importers and tender desks across our export markets.

India is our origin. We do not sell into the Indian market.

Buyers are hospital pharmacists in cardiology and heart failure units, MoH and hospital tender desks, and licensed importers and distributors in the GCC, Africa and the UK. Typical enquiries read "I'm looking for ivabradine 5 mg in the UAE" or "We need a partner for Procoralan 7.5 mg for a tender". Each destination has its own route to registration or import, for example the Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE) in the UAE, NAFDAC in Nigeria and the MHRA in the UK, and we align the offer with it before quoting. M Care supplies both originator or regulator-registered brands and Indian-made lines, and does not state that any Indian-made line is registered in a given destination unless that destination's regulator confirms it.

Pharmacist's note

What the dispensing pharmacist checks on ivabradine.

Start with the heart rate thresholds, because the label differs by indication. In the EU and UK texts, treatment must not start if the resting heart rate is below 70 bpm, and the heart failure indication is for a heart rate of at least 75 bpm. If the resting heart rate stays below 50 bpm or bradycardia symptoms persist, the dose is reduced or treatment is stopped. The EPAR gives a usual start of 5 mg twice daily with meals, adjustable to 7.5 mg or down to 2.5 mg twice daily, and a lower starting dose of 2.5 mg twice daily can be used in patients over 75. The UK SmPC reports bradycardia in 3.3% of patients and phosphenes (luminous phenomena) in 14.5%. Atrial fibrillation risk is increased, and both the EU and US texts call for patients to be monitored for atrial fibrillation. Ivabradine is contraindicated in pregnancy and breast-feeding in the UK SmPC, and the US label warns of fetal toxicity. Storage differs by market: the UK SmPC states no special storage conditions and a 3-year shelf life, while the US label gives 25 °C with excursions to 15 to 30 °C and says to keep the oral solution ampules in the foil pouch until use, to protect them from light.

Regulatory & quality

The documentation pack a regulator actually asks for.

Ivabradine is an ambient-temperature product, so no cold chain applies on the EU, UK or US texts we read. The UK emc lists Procoralan 5 mg and 7.5 mg film-coated tablets from Servier Laboratories Limited, in calendar blister packs of 14, 28, 56, 84, 98, 100 or 112 tablets, not all marketed. Generic ivabradine is regulator-listed in all three regions we checked: the EMA lists Ivabradine Accord and Ivabradine Zentiva as generics of Procoralan, the emc lists generic ivabradine tablets from companies including Krka, Viatris, Aurobindo (Milpharm), Amarox, Flamingo and Aspire, and DailyMed lists generic ivabradine tablet labels from several US labelers under abbreviated new drug applications. M Care documentation covers batch certificates of analysis, export documents and destination-aligned dossier support where the regulator requires it. We state the source and quality status of each line before quoting, and make no manufacturing or WHO claim for M Care itself.

Batch-specific certificate and method of analysis from the sourcing manufacturer's QC release.

CoPP, WHO-GMP, MFG licence

Frequently asked

Ivabradine supply, the specific questions.

What decides the landed price of Procoralan 5 mg for an importer?

We do not publish prices. The landed cost depends on whether you want the originator Procoralan, a regulator-registered generic or an Indian-made line, the strength (5 mg or 7.5 mg), the pack size, the quantity, the registration route in your destination and Incoterms. No cold chain applies on the EU and UK texts we read, so freight is simpler than for refrigerated products. M Care Exports quotes per destination once we have the strength, pack and quantity.

What is Procoralan used for, and what is the ivabradine indication?

In the EU and UK, Procoralan is indicated for symptomatic treatment of chronic stable angina in adults with coronary artery disease, normal sinus rhythm and a heart rate of at least 70 bpm, and for chronic heart failure (NYHA class II to IV with systolic dysfunction) in sinus rhythm with a heart rate of at least 75 bpm. The US label for Corlanor covers heart failure only, in adults with LVEF of 35% or less and a resting heart rate of at least 70 bpm, and in children from 6 months with heart failure due to dilated cardiomyopathy. Indications vary by destination labelling, so confirm the local text.

What are the side effects of Procoralan?

The UK SmPC lists phosphenes (luminous phenomena) as the most common adverse reaction, reported by 14.5% of patients, and bradycardia in 3.3%. It also notes an increased risk of atrial fibrillation. The product is contraindicated in pregnancy and breast-feeding. The US label warns of fetal toxicity and of bradycardia, sinus arrest and heart block. Prescribers decide on use, and the full list is in the destination's approved leaflet.

What is the procoralan generic name, and is generic ivabradine available?

The generic name is ivabradine. Servier also holds a separate EU authorisation under the name Corlentor. The EMA lists Ivabradine Accord and Ivabradine Zentiva as generics of Procoralan, the UK emc lists generic ivabradine tablets from several companies, and DailyMed lists generic ivabradine tablet labels in the US alongside Corlanor. M Care also supplies Indian-made ivabradine lines such as Ivabid, Ivabrad and Ivabeat, and we do not describe them as registered anywhere unless the destination regulator says so.

I'm looking for Procoralan 5 mg tablet 56 packs. Which strengths and packs exist?

The UK emc lists Procoralan 5 mg and 7.5 mg film-coated tablets in calendar blister packs of 14, 28, 56, 84, 98, 100 or 112 tablets, and notes that not all pack sizes may be marketed. The 56-tablet pack is therefore a listed size, but availability depends on the market and the supply line. Send us the destination, strength and pack count and we confirm what we can quote.

Can you supply ivabradine 5 mg and 7.5 mg to the UAE?

Yes, M Care supplies ivabradine tablets to the GCC, in 5 mg and 7.5 mg strengths, as originator or regulator-registered brands or as Indian-made lines. UAE product registration sits with the Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE), so we confirm which brand and strength your registration or import route accepts before we quote. Send the strength, the brand you need and the quantity.
