Bulk supply and export terms

Ixekizumab exporter and bulk supplier from India.

"We need a partner for Taltz" is a typical dermatology or rheumatology formulary enquiry. M Care is a merchant-exporter: we quote the originator product against your specification and align the offer with your destination's registration route. Taltz is a refrigerated biological that patients may self-inject after training, so the quote turns on autoinjector or syringe, pack size, quantity, the registration route and the 2 to 8 °C lane. Other IL-17 and IL-23 options that buyers list beside it are on our secukinumab (Cosentyx) and risankizumab (Skyrizi) pages. Each has its own label, so we quote them as separate lines.

Interleukin-17A antagonist monoclonal antibody, sourced and documented for export.

Ixekizumab is marketed as Taltz by Eli Lilly and Company in the US, and by Eli Lilly and Company (Ireland) Limited as marketing authorisation holder in the EU and UK. The US label lists moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis in patients 6 years and older who are candidates for systemic therapy or phototherapy, plus active psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis in adults. The EU and UK texts list moderate to severe plaque psoriasis in adults and in children from 6 years weighing at least 25 kg, psoriatic arthritis, radiographic and non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis, and juvenile psoriatic arthritis and enthesitis-related arthritis from 6 years weighing at least 25 kg. The US label describes an 80 mg/mL autoinjector and 80 mg/mL, 40 mg/0.5 mL and 20 mg/0.25 mL pre-filled syringes. The UK SmPCs describe 80 mg in 1 mL as a pre-filled pen or pre-filled syringe, in packs of 1, 2 or 3 (not all marketed).

Ixekizumab. Interleukin-17A antagonist monoclonal antibody.

Ixekizumab, an IL-17A antibody for plaque psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis and axial spondyloarthritis. Sold as Taltz and supplied to GCC, African and UK buyers as a cold-chain biological.

Who we supply

Hospital pharmacies, licensed importers and tender desks across our export markets.

India is our origin. We do not sell into the Indian market.

Buyers are hospital pharmacists and dermatology or rheumatology formulary leads, MoH and hospital tender desks, and licensed importers and distributors in the GCC, Africa and the UK. Typical enquiries read "I'm looking for Taltz 80 mg autoinjectors" or "We need a partner for Taltz for a hospital tender". Each destination has its own registration route, for example the Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE) in the UAE, NAFDAC in Nigeria and the MHRA in the UK, and we confirm the route before quoting. Taltz is a chronic therapy with maintenance dosing of 80 mg every 4 weeks in the US and UK labels, so tender buyers usually ask for a quantity plan across the year, not a single shipment.

Pharmacist's note

What the dispensing pharmacist checks on ixekizumab.

Taltz is a cold-chain biological: store at 2 to 8 °C, do not freeze, protect from light. The UK SmPCs allow storage unrefrigerated for up to 5 days at a temperature not above 30 °C, and the US label gives patients and caregivers the same 5 days at up to 30 °C, with the product not to return to the fridge afterwards. Build the distributor lane to 2 to 8 °C and treat that allowance as a patient-side buffer, not a transport plan. The UK SmPCs give a shelf life of 2 years. In the US label the starting dose for adult plaque psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis is 160 mg, given as two 80 mg injections, so pack counts matter for the first month. The US label says 20 mg and 40 mg paediatric doses prepared from the 80 mg/mL syringe should only be given by a qualified healthcare professional, and the UK text says that if the 40 mg syringe is not available, doses below 80 mg must be prepared by a healthcare professional. Tuberculosis evaluation before the first dose and a record of product name and batch number are label points your clinic will ask about.

Regulatory & quality

The documentation pack a regulator actually asks for.

Taltz is an originator biological from Eli Lilly. The EMA lists Eli Lilly and Company (Ireland) Limited as the marketing authorisation holder, with authorisation issued on 25 April 2016, and the UK SmPC gives the same holder and first-authorisation date. The US label names Eli Lilly and Company, Indianapolis, as the US licence holder. The EMA medicines list shows Taltz as the only authorised ixekizumab medicine, and it is not a biosimilar; DailyMed and emc also list only Taltz, so enquiries today are for the originator. M Care documentation covers batch certificates of analysis, export documents and destination-aligned dossier support where the regulator requires it, with the cold-chain lane confirmed per shipment. M Care makes no manufacturing or quality-status claim for itself beyond merchant-exporter documentation.

Frequently asked

Ixekizumab supply, the specific questions.

What decides the landed price of Taltz for an importer?

We do not publish prices. The landed cost of Taltz depends on the presentation (autoinjector or pre-filled syringe), pack size, quantity, the registration route in your destination, the 2 to 8 °C cold-chain lane and Incoterms. Refrigerated freight is a real cost line for a biological. M Care Exports quotes per destination once you send the presentation, volume and country.

What is Taltz 80 mg and how is the autoinjector supplied?

Taltz 80 mg is a single-dose solution, 80 mg in 1 mL, for subcutaneous injection. The US label lists an 80 mg/mL autoinjector in cartons of 1, 2 or 3, and an 80 mg/mL pre-filled syringe. The UK SmPCs list the pre-filled pen and the pre-filled syringe in packs of 1, 2 or 3, noting that not all pack sizes may be marketed. The US label also lists 40 mg/0.5 mL and 20 mg/0.25 mL pre-filled syringes. Tell us the presentation your destination registers and we quote that line.

What is the Taltz dosing schedule for plaque psoriasis?

For adults, the US and UK texts give 160 mg at week 0, then 80 mg at weeks 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12, then 80 mg every 4 weeks. For children, dosing is by weight. Above 50 kg it is 160 mg at week 0, then 80 mg every 4 weeks. At 25 to 50 kg it is 80 mg at week 0, then 40 mg every 4 weeks. The US label adds an under-25 kg band (40 mg, then 20 mg every 4 weeks), while the UK SmPC does not recommend Taltz below 25 kg. The prescriber sets the dose.

What are the key Taltz side-effect warnings in the label?

The US and UK labels warn about infections, so tuberculosis should be evaluated before starting, and active TB is a contraindication in the UK text. Both warn of serious hypersensitivity, including anaphylaxis, and of new or worsening inflammatory bowel disease, and both advise against live vaccines. The US label also reports severe eczematous eruptions after marketing. Full adverse-reaction detail is in the current label, and clinical questions belong with the prescriber.

Which conditions is Taltz labelled for, and where is the FDA label?

The FDA label (DailyMed, Eli Lilly) lists plaque psoriasis from 6 years, active psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis in adults. The EU and UK texts add juvenile psoriatic arthritis and enthesitis-related arthritis from 6 years weighing at least 25 kg. Other uses are not labelled indications. Our source list below links the DailyMed label, the EMA page and the UK SmPCs.

Is there a generic or biosimilar of Taltz, and does it need a cold chain?

The EMA medicines list shows Taltz as the only authorised ixekizumab medicine in the EU, and we found no other ixekizumab product on DailyMed or emc, so supply today is the originator, and M Care confirms status per enquiry. Taltz needs a refrigerated lane at 2 to 8 °C, must not be frozen, and the UK SmPC gives a 2-year shelf life. The US label states the 5-day unrefrigerated allowance up to 30 °C for patients and caregivers, so we plan lanes to the fridge standard and check remaining shelf life on arrival.
