Why this combination exists at all
Emblaveo is a fixed-dose combination of aztreonam, a monobactam, with avibactam, a non-beta-lactam beta-lactamase inhibitor. The pairing solves a specific resistance problem. Aztreonam is not hydrolysed by metallo-beta-lactamases (NDM, VIM, IMP), but it is vulnerable to the serine beta-lactamases that MBL-producing organisms usually carry alongside them. Avibactam covers those serine enzymes, which lets aztreonam survive long enough to work.
That makes it one of the few options for infections caused by metallo-beta-lactamase-producing Gram-negative organisms, where carbapenems have failed and the remaining choices are colistin-class agents. It received European marketing authorisation in 2024 and United States approval in 2025, with indications covering complicated intra-abdominal infection, and in Europe also hospital-acquired and ventilator-associated pneumonia, complicated urinary tract infection, and Gram-negative infections with limited treatment options. Labelled indications differ by regulator, so verify against the label in force in your market.
Three routes, and which one applies is decided by your market
Direct supply against your order

Questions buyers ask us about this line
Is there a generic version of Emblaveo available from India?
No. Aztreonam-avibactam is originator-only and under patent, and no Indian generic is approved or marketed. Any offer of a generic Emblaveo should be treated as a red flag and checked against the manufacturing site licence, the CoPP and the marketing authorisation before any payment is made.
Can M Care supply the originator product?
Only through a legitimate special-access route, and only where your market permits it. That means named-patient or unlicensed import, with the importer or authorised prescriber in your country holding the local authorisation. What is the difference between Emblaveo and ceftazidime-avibactam?
Both pair a beta-lactam with avibactam, but they cover different enzymes. Ceftazidime-avibactam covers serine carbapenemases such as KPC and OXA-48 and does not cover metallo-beta-lactamases. Aztreonam-avibactam is the combination aimed at metallo-beta-lactamase producers, because aztreonam itself resists those enzymes. Susceptibility testing decides which is appropriate.
How long does a named-patient import take?
It depends far more on your regulator than on us. The supply side can move quickly once the product is located, but the special-access filing in the destination market sets the real clock.
